We invite you to join fellow advocates and professionals March 22 - 23 in Madison, Wisconsin for our 10th Annual Conference! Whether you're a public health professional, navigator, counselor, student, or anyone who helps children gain access to health care coverage, you are welcome to attend. We will hear directly from Wisconsin policy makers and experts at a critical time for health care, and provide breakout sessions centered on "Connecting Wisconsin’s Children to Coverage."

Day 1


The conference starts at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22 with an afternoon centered on the Wisconsin Coverage Connections Project. We'll discuss the basics of BadgerCare Plus, host a session called "Working with Pediatricians," and provide a session on outreach and education strategies to connect more kids to coverage!


We'll then CELEBRATE the excellent work of health professionals across Wisconsin with our Annual Awards Celebration! We are seeking nominations for Advocate of the Year, Outreach Effort, and Media Story/Elected Official.



Day 2


The conference continues at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 23 with the very popular Legislative Panel discussing "The Direction of Health Policy in Wisconsin." As we continue our theme "The Health Care Coverage Pendulum Swings", we'll hear from policy experts and elected officials as they describe the future of health care and coverage in 2017.


Thursday, March 23 (Day 2) includes sessions & workshops on:


-Health Equity

-Immigrant Health Coverage under BadgerCare Plus & Medicaid

-Jail Health & Medicaid


-Uncompensated Care

-Advocacy Strategies in a Changing Health Coverage Landscape

Our 10th Annual Conference is an opportunity for you to gather-and-learn about the changes ahead in both public and private health care coverage programs in Wisconsin. It's also a great place to network and meet other people working with Wisconsin families. Once again, Day 1 of the conference is FREE for paid members/subscribers of HealthWatch Wisconsin - or free with the purchase of a new membership.

This year's conference takes place again at the Madison Masonic Center! We anticipate a capacity audience for both days, due to this year's significantly discounted registration rates. Attendees will meet in the Ballroom for the first day of sessions, and day two will include 'breakout sessions' in the Auditorium, Classroom, and Blue Dining Room.

The venue's Johnson Street entrance is the most efficient way to enter the conference, and an automatic door is available. There is also an elevator and ramp to assist persons of all abilities with accessing the venue's Ballroom, Classroom, Dining Room, Auditorium, and restrooms. A limited number of accessible parking spaces are available on-site.

Conference participants are responsible for their own lodging accommodations. Early bird hotel discounts have now expired, but a 'last minute' room block is available at the Hilton Madison Monona Terrace. Please mention "HealthWatch Wisconsin" to receive the discounted room rate.
